We’re in the midst of the Country Cups in Australian Racing, with the Cranbourne Cup, Gong, and Group 1 Railway Stakes in the West serving as the centrepieces of Saturday’s contests.

From a BTX standpoint, there’s a lot happening for our owners in November. Trainers are incredibly busy dissecting their Spring Carnivals and gearing up for their Summer and Autumn campaigns. On the breeding side, Blue Gum Farm has plenty of positive news for our Broodmare Pack Owners😉. Additionally, Fillies Pack members Until Valhalla and La Magia have received significant updates, while Reasonable is transitioning from a dainty filly to an imposing figure for the upcoming Autumn races.

Positive Signs For The Broodmare Pack

The BTX Broodmare Pack continues to develop week on week as November sees a number of mares secure positive scans to their 2023 covering stallions. High-value broodmare Don’ttelltheboss already the dam of a Stay Inside colt was positively scanned in foal to Champion 1st and 2nd Season sire Russian Revolution in late October. Meanwhile, fellow broodmares Behaviourism and Flandersrain have been positively scanned initially and will await a final scan to confirm pregnancy. The last two broodmares, Deserved, served by In The Congo, has had an early positive scan while Prosecution, covered by Sejardan, has had a positive mid-scan.

On top of this, the Breeding Pack is regularly being updated by our friends at Blue Gum Farm who are providing key insights into the general day-to-day work that goes into raising a thoroughbred successfully. All existing investors will be receiving regular updates on the health, well-being and development of both foal and dam.

Smart Missile Filly Now Nikolsky 

Nikolsky! Our sensational filly, previously known as the Smart Missile x Chloe’s Comet, has been officially christened Nikolsky, paying homage to the esteemed Physician Pytor Nikolsky. Following a remarkable display in her recent jump out where she secured an impressive third-place finish, our eyes are set on her anticipated debut at the races on December 2nd. Shares for this promising talent are available at just $75, making her upcoming racing premiere an affordable thrill for all enthusiasts. With two previous first-place finishes in her jumpouts, Nikolsky is leaving us eagerly anticipating her upcoming performance.

Until Valhalla Set For Freshen as La Magia Heads Back To Jumpouts

Following an unplaced effort in the Group 3 Spring Stakes, classy Snitzel filly Until Valhalla will be sent for a break where the team will decide whether a tilt at the Magic Millions Guineas or a spell in preparation for the Sydney and Melbourne Autumn Carnival leading into Brisbane’s lucrative Winter Carnival. Saturday’s jockey Rachel King acknowledged that inexperience and immaturity were at fault during her unplaced effort at Newcastle on the weekend. King stated, “When she matures, you’re going to have a lot of fun with her”.

Fellow Fillies Pack runner La Magia recently relocated to Cranbourne where she’s settled in well and had a good grass gallop. Working over half a mile, she was asked to improve the last three furlongs, leading up another stablemate, she went well out in front and quickened when asked with a closing furlong of 11.7 seconds. We will have a closer look at her data and she will possibly jump out on Monday 27th. If not, she will have another gallop and then jump out the following week instead.

Reasonable Heads to Bob’s Farm

Up and coming filly Reasonable is ready to step up her work and give her a good base early in her prep. The training plan will include a variety of gallops, deep sand work and beach work. With a plan to give her a few weeks before heading to the trials closer to the new year.

A half-sister to $1.8M earner Fiesta, also a late developer. Reasonable’s physical progression in her latest spell has brought her to the level the CMR team were expecting her to reach. Due to her outstanding pedigree, the team will have high hopes for the daughter of Justify who will likely be pre-nominated for a variety of lucrative fillies and mares races, giving her the opportunity to quickly rise through the ranks in February and March with races such as the Surround Stakes and Coolmore Classic potential long term goals. In the meantime, the immediate focus is on her progression at Bob’s Farm and then targeting a winnable Maiden in the late summer. As of 24/11 3 horses have raced since she was last seen in the 3YO Maiden Hcp at Canterbury Park, with both winner Makarena and second place Kaizad both winning at Stakes level in the Spring Carnival, highlighting the strength of her most recent run. With Makarena winning the $500,000 Tapp-Craig and Kaizad winning the time-honoured $250,000 Carbine Club Stakes at Flemington on Derby Day.
