Smart Missile’s progressive sprinter Nikolsky continues to progress in her autumn campaign as she prepares for her inaugural racing campaign. The Clarken and O’Shea trained filly has required a lot of patience from her owners as she has been slow to mature but is now showing the signs that she is ready to take on the races. Nikolsky is set to trial in the next couple of weeks, with sights set on taking advantage of good prizemoney throughout May and June.

It’s a vintage Group 1 this week in Adelaide where a changing of the guard could be seen. Last start Group 1 winner Zapateo taking on rising 3YO sprinting superstar Estriella. The field has added support from high-quality multiple-stakes winners including the likes of Learning To Fly, Passive Aggressive, I Am Me, Bennedetta and Roots.

Newgate and Darley Announce Stallion Fees for 2024

The Breeding Season for 2024/25 is taking shape. This week major Hunter Valley based farms Newgate and Darley released their stallion fees for the 2024 covering season to take place from September onwards.

Major stallion news is that leading first season sires Too Darn Hot and Tassort have both had their fees increased significantly with both receiving value increases of over 100%. Too Darn Hot will stand for $110,000 and Tassort rises from $11,000 to $38,500.

Other notable news includes the announcement of four new stallions to Darley Cylinder, Golden Mile, Native Trail and Triple Time. Plus three new stallions to Newgate who present their largest roster ever of 17. Their new stallions are star 3YOs Ozzmosis, Militarize and King’s Gambit.
