The pack has 3 geldings and one filly all bred on the South Island of New Zealand, a place renowned for breeding strong, durable stayers. We have recently seen a domination of NZ-bred horses in Australia, and while these horses won’t be world-beaters, they will give their owners plenty of fun along the way!
Ciaron purchased these in New Zealand, from White Robe Lodge, the same farm that produced 2022 Group 1 Turnball Stakes winner Smokin’ Romans, who is also the sire of three of these horses. Ciaron has given them the time and nuturing that they require to develop into nice stayers.

Diamondiferous (3yo Filly – Ghibellines x Ballerine)
- A promising stayer who showed ability in a couple of trials last prep
- Has just come back in from a break where she’s furnished nicely
- Expect to get to the races this time in
- Same Sire as G1 Turnball Stakes winner Smokin’ Romans
Jiffy (3yo Gelding – Ghibellines x Ignite)
- Progressive 3yo who has shown some promise in his recent trials
- Still growing physically, and has just gone to the paddock
- Expect him to get to the races next preperation
- With a grow during his break, he’ll turn into a nice stayer
- Same Sire as G1 Turnball Stakes winner Smokin’ Romans
Joffrey (4yo Gelding – Raise The Flag x Zigalong)
- Typical Kiwi stayer, who has taken time to come to hand
- Will jump-out in January 2024
- Looks to be a jumper in the making, by the same sire as Grand Annual winners Heberite and Ablaze, and Sydney Cup winner Etah James
Ahab (3yo Gelding – Ghilbellines x Nasheeta)
- Showed ability last preparation but was still quite green
- He’s furnished well in his recent break
- Same Sire as G1 Turnball Stakes winner Smokin’ Romans
