New Stallion Page, Winning Debut, and More!

Welcome to this week’s Friday Wrap-Up! Discover our newly launched stallion page, celebrate Jon Bon’s dazzling debut, and explore the latest updates on our sprinting sensation, Speed On Speed. Plus, don’t miss the first Fillies Pack debut and Kettle Hill’s hopeful next run. Let’s jump into this week’s racing adventure!

Meet the Stallions!

The launch of the newly created stallion page on the BTX website gives current and future investors the opportunity to learn more about one of the key aspects of the broodmare pack. The stallions involved in the pack will have as much impact on the sale price of the foals as the physical conformation of each foal and therefore education and analysis for investors is crucial. The pack is specifically designed to take advantage of leading Australian stallions with mid-range fees, who are most likely going to rise over the coming seasons. The utilisation of proven but ever-rising stallions such as Russian Revolution and Maurice, along with a new brigade of first-season stallions led by Stay Inside and Jacquinot provides an opportunity for investors to receive the greatest return on investment possible. The Stallions page provides key stats, facts and analysis on each stallion and the key physical and pedigree features that make them ideal for the pack’s broodmares. For all current and potential future investors, it is a must-read to keep you well-versed for when the sales approach!

Jon Bon a Highlight of Waterhouse and Bott’s Magnificent Weekend

“The confidence to start his career at a metropolitan meeting over a sprinting distance, especially considering his evident stamina and power that lends itself to middle distance racing shows the class, athleticism and temperament the horse possesses that has shone through in both of his trials. The team is optimistic that he can secure the lead from a favourable starting position, racing in the tough and classic style associated with the Waterhouse and Bott team.” – Friday Wrap 22/09

What a start it was for the career of Jon Bon, who as predicted two weeks ago was too strong on debut in Newcastle’s Super Maiden worth $60k last Saturday. A quick shoutout to apprentice jockey Amy McLucas who rode the horse to perfection in what beckons to be a very exciting 12 months for all connections. Whilst there was disappointing news on Tuesday that the horse has pulled up shin sore, the BTX Bloodstock team aren’t fazed by the news with the acknowledgement that like humans, shin soreness represents physical growth. Owners can expect following his break that the horse will come back a physically superior animal in what could be a blessing in disguise. Shin soreness is not uncommon for young So You Think colts with Everest favourite Think About It having his career initially stalled due to similar issues before resuming to win 10 from 11 races with the Everest to be run on October 14.

Owners familiar with the Sydney Autumn Carnival will recognise that the early break represents an enormous opportunity for Jon Bon to take advantage of key 3-year-old races in February and March with key lead-ups to the Randwick and Rosehill Guineas all run in the early autumn.

Speed On Speed Launches On the Back of Jon Bon’s Success

While the SOLD banner went up for Jon Bon on Monday following his debut win, the launch of Speed On Speed gives an opportunity at a similar price point and over twice the ownership share to race a 3-year-old sprinter on the rise. Whilst Jon Bon’s quality will allow him to cover more ground, Speed On Speed is an out-and-out sprinter, primed to tackle the fast Queensland conditions. Trained by Group 1 winning partnership Matt Hoysted and Steve O’Dea, Speed On Speed possesses all the attributes needed to be a top-class sprinter. By multiple 3-year-old stakes winner Smart Missile and out of a stakes-producing mare, Speed on Speed is a full sister to $680,000 earner and Nature Strip conqueror I’ll Have A Bit.

Trained in Queensland and bought for $150,000 at the 2019 Magic Millions Sale, the gelding has been highly touted due to his fantastic constitution and professionalism. He’s a classic eat, sleep, run repeat type of racehorse. Perfect for owners who want to enjoy going to the races and perfect for those who want a horse in the image of an Australian sprinter.

Speed On Speed has 0.05% shares available from $270 with no monthly payments.

Until Valhalla Takes the Fillies Pack Racing

The highly touted and highly popular Fillies Pack kicks off on Sunday at Hawkesbury when Until Valhalla debuts!

Racing over 1100m in the second race on the card at Hawkesbury Until Valhalla will be ridden by Ashley Morgan for a purse of $42,000. The team have been extremely encouraged by the progress of Until Valhalla this preparation and the positive feedback received by the CMR team at Bob’s Farm. The team were specifically delighted with her trial under the guidance of Tommy Berry at Newcastle in September and see that foundation as a great indicator for the horse’s skillset. The team believe this is a winnable race for the debutant but understands that the other runners in the field have more race experience.

Whilst Until Valhalla is due to race there are a variety of updates for our Fillies Pack owners with Think You Can moving to Warwick Farm for her first full training preparation and our Yes Yes Yes x Luluoru filly whose name is pending, has headed for a spell in preparation for her autumn and potentially debut racing campaign.

Kettle Hill To Rise In Grade

Kettle Hill owners were given a timely boost on Tuesday morning when an update came through with their warrior going through his paces with Group 1 winning Caulfield Guineas chance King Colorado in the early hours at Cranbourne. That piece of work was completed in the lead-up to his second-up run at Caulfield on Saturday week over 1700m. Head trainer Ciaron Maher updated owners that the gelding son of Gleneagles will line up in the Beck Grand Handicap in benchmark 80 conditions. The team are confident in the horse’s progression from his slashing first-up effort at Sandown. It will be somewhat of a moving day for Kettle Hill where a win would see him rise to black-type level at his following start with races throughout the Melbourne Cup Carnival on the agenda. Shares in Kettle Hill are selling fast following his last update, so make sure to get involved ASAP.
